Starbucks Black Lives Matter Shirt
Commissioned by Starbucks Black Partner Network, the Stand Together shirt gave 250,000+ Starbucks employees across North America a way to express support for the Black Lives Matter movement.
The illustration was inspired by activist and community leaders working towards equity and justice for the Black community. Message of unity, intersectionality and optimism are reflected in the protest signs, while the color pallet ties into the Black Partner Network branding. The raised fist with painted nails on the front of the shirt is a nod to Black, Trans leaders who make change in their communities every day.

“The shirt was a collective effort (BPN was not alone) by partners to represent Starbucks support of the community as it relates to racial injustice. It showed me the true power of intersectionality. I strongly feel it’s the “work” we do when we have the Stand Together shirt on or off that represents the mission and values of Starbucks and BPN. I challenge all of us to show support and do the work that will allow racial injustice to be eradicated.”
